What we believe

God

We believe in the Eternal Godhead who has revealed Himself as ONE God existing in THREE persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; distinguishable but inseparable.

Matthew 28:19
2 Corinthians 13:14

Scripture

We believe in the inspiration of the accepted canon of the Scriptures as originally given and that they are perfectly and uniquely authoritative in all matters with which they deal, including scientific and historical as well as moral and theological.

2 Timothy 3:16
1 Corinthians 2:13

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of all people, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, both fully God and fully man.

Luke 1:26-35
John 1:18
Isaiah 7:14; 9:6

Christ's Death and resurrection

We believe Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again on the third day and personally appeared to His disciples.

1 Corinthians 15:14
Romans 4:25

Salvation by Grace Through Faith

We believe in the salvation of sinners by grace, through repentance and faith in the perfect and sufficient work of the cross of Calvary by which we obtain remission of sins
Ephesians 2:8-9; Hebrews 9:12, 22; Romans 5:11

Water Baptism

We believe in the necessity of water baptism by immersion in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit in order to fulfill the command of Christ

Matthew 28;19; Acts 2:37-39; 19:1-6

The Church

We believe that the local gathering of believers, known as the church, is Christ’s body meant to impact the world with the message of Jesus. Its primary function is to share life together, which includes encouraging one another, serving our community and worshipping regularly.

Acts 2:42-47

Leadership

We believe that scripture calls for male leadership in the church.
The roles of bishop/elder, deacon, pastor, pulpit minister, and worship leaders (preacher, song leader, etc.) are to be filled by males.
The roles of ministry leaders and/or staff can be filled by both men and women.

I Timothy 3:13; Titus 1:5-9; Romans 16:1-27; I Corinthians 14

Communion

We believe in the regular observance of Communion, commonly called the Lord’s Supper, as an expression of worship

1 Corinthians 11:28-32

Tithes and Offerings

We believe in tithing that which belongs to the Lord, offerings that are given willingly.

Deuteronomy 8:18; 2 Corinthians 8:9; 9:6-15

Holy Spirit Filled Lives

We believe in a Spirit-filled life that empowers us to live counter-culturally while interacting within our culture. We strive to live holy lives as an expression of Christian faith

Ephesians 5:18-21; 1 Corinthians 6:14; 7:1

Marriage/Gender/Relationships

We believe that from the beginning, God created male and female and established marriage as a lifelong union, a sacred covenant between one man and one woman. Further, the marriage relationship mirrors the relationship between Christ and the church. The world promotes alternate views which are not in accordance with God’s word. We believe all relationships are to be governed by our submission first to Christ and then to each other in love out of reverence for Christ.

Genesis 1:26-28; 2:19-25; Ephesians 5:21-33; Matthew 22:37-40

A Cappella Singing

We believe that we are to honor God in praise and in worship with the voice he gave us. We cherish a cappella singing and recognize its ability to include the full participation of the church. We have prayerfully chosen to uphold a cappella singing as our practice.
